Geo Connect Asia 2023 has kicked off on 15th March 2023 with resounding success, which saw a gathering of industry players and experts in the field of logistics, transportation, drones, geospatial and the relevant technologies, both from Singapore and overseas!
CDAS is proud to be a supporting partner for this event. The event kicked off with an opening address by Mr. Rupert Owen, Co-founder of Geo Connect Asia, who gave an overview of the outlook of the importance of the geospatial landscape. Mr. Oon Jin YEOH , Chairman of the Singapore Land Authority, gave his welcome address, to share on rising relevance of geospatial in Singapore and what SLA is doing to build upon it.
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and Ministry of Transport Dr. Amy Khor graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour, and gave her opening address to emphasize the importance of reducing carbon emissions and sustainaility, and why geospatial will help Singapore move towards these goals.
Dr. Kor also witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), between CDAS, represented by Deputy President Mr. Ricky Loo and the Singapore Land Authority, represented by Assistant Chief Executive Mr. LYE CHONG SIN.
This collaboration will allow both parties to explore digital exchange of useful information, and jointly promote awareness in geospatial technologies and their potential areas/themes of application that are relevant to the logistics and transportation industry through outreach and networking activities.
This MoU also signifies the collaboration of both parties to jointly explore and implement suitable knowledge sharing, capacity building, and skills and capability development programs in geospatial technologies and their applications where CDAS can leverage on SLA’s professional network, competencies, products, and services to benefit its members and associates in the industry.
This partnership arose from the desire to combine the expertise and capabilities of both parties, allowing for the development of a heavy vehicle routing algorithm for public use, benefitting the entire industry and country as a whole, as well as identifying and developing potential geospatial co-innovation projects to address the challenges faced by the logistics and transportation industry.
Working together with SLA, we will strive towards bringing the logistics and transportation industry to greater heights!
