The association was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr Sharafdeen S N Abdul Rasak, former CDAS President on 20 March 2021. Mr. Sharafdeen was one of the founding members of the Association, who had helped establish the Association, along with other container depot operators, and helped guide and grow it to where it is today. During his long tenure with CDAS he had served a major role as one of our long running President, having been re-elected into the position multiple times, and have made countless contributions in guiding the industry towards greater height. Calling for Industry Island wide Safety Time-Out (STO)

Five Fatalities in 10 Days – Call Upon Industries for Safety Time-Out The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council has shared that from 23 November to 2 December 2020, there have been five workplace fatalities across various industries. Preliminary investigations from the Ministry of Manpower have found that these accidents could have been easily prevented through thorough inspection of worksites to correct any potentially unsafe conditions, and workers to be re-trained and given time to adjust after a period of inactivity. 77 Organisations Recognised for Workplace Safety and Health Excellence

77 contractors, operators and organisations were recognised by the Land Transport Authority for their excellent workplace safety, health and environment management practices in 2019 at the 22nd Annual Safety, Health and Environmental Award Convention (ASAC). LTA had approached CDAS for nominations for this award, and had assisted the application process. A Very Special Walk/Challenge 2020 organized by Autism Resource Centre (Singapore)

Due to the Covid situation, Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) decided to move their signature fundraising event online for the very first time. So for A Very Special Walk/Challenge 2020, https://avsw20.autism.org.sg/, they invited participants to sign up for their own challenges of 20s.
