A Very Special Walk/Challenge 2020 organized by Autism Resource Centre (Singapore)
Due to the Covid situation, Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) decided to move their signature fundraising event online for the very first time. So for A Very Special Walk/Challenge 2020, https://avsw20.autism.org.sg/, they invited participants to sign up for their own challenges of 20s. They could run 20 KM, walk 20,000 steps or do anything in 20s and raise funds for ARC by asking their friends and family to support them completing their challenge through a donation. Fortitude Budget 2020 for Businesses
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat had announced the $33 billion Fortitude Budget in Parliament yesterday. Requirements for Safe Management Measures at the Workplace
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) have issued details on Safe Management Measures required of businesses allowed to resume operations. Businesses must: Implement a system of Safe Management Measures at workplaces; Reduce physical interaction and ensure safe distancing at workplaces; Support contact tracing requirements – through implementing SafeEntry; Require employees to wear personal protective equipment where needed, and observe good personal hygiene; Ensure cleanliness of workplace premises; Implement health checks and protocols to manage potential cases. As Singapore continues its fight against the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, many have come together to show their support and solidarity with us. One of which was Switzerland, who illuminated the Swiss Alps with projections of images, including the flags of countries around the world. Extension of Circuit Breaker Period and Tightened List of Essential Services
1. The Government is extending the Circuit Breaker period by another four weeks until 1 June 2020 (inclusive). They will monitor the situation closely, and may be able to gradually ease some of the measures if there is a significant decline in our local transmission numbers. 2. COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Bill: 6 month Relief from rental payments, loan instalments, etc. (FAQs, Infographics)
The Ministry of Law will be passing a new legislation, entitled “COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Bill”. The new law will enable companies’ whose businesses have been adversely affected by Covid-19 to seek relief from fulfilling their contractual obligations such as paying rent, paying instalments on bank loans, fulfilling their construction contracts, etc for a period of six months. The bill will be read in Parliament and come into effect in mid-April. Temporary Relief for Inability to Perform Contractual Obligations Due to COVID-19 Situation
The Ministry of Law has just announced its intention to introduce the “COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Bill”. The Bill will enable companies’ whose businesses have been adversely affected by Covid-19 to seek relief from fulfilling their contractual obligations such as paying rent, paying instalments on bank loans, fulfilling their construction contracts, etc for a period of six months.
