The Geo Connect Asia 2023 continued on to its 2nd day, with more panelists and talks held throughout the day, where various industry experts got to share their views on the learning points and strides they have gained in their field of work on geospatial related topics.
CDAS Deputy President, Mr. Ricky Loo, took part in a panel discussion on the topic of “Innovations in Tracking Shipping Assets & Alleviating Logistics Chokepoints”, where he was joined by Ms. Seow Hwee – Head (Cargo Solutions) at PSA Corporation Limited, Mr. Martin Schweiger – Patent Attorney at Schweiger & Partners Singapore and Mr. Jerry Lim Yishun – Head of Products & Services at Data Conversation.
The panel was moderated by Associate Professor Tan Kok Choon of NUS Business School.
Together, the panelists shared their insights based on their respective fields of expertise, including some case studies, and how our industry as a whole, can leverage on innovations in GPS and other tracking technology to better track shipping assets, as well as alleviate chokepoints and other pain points to help optimize resources and improve efficiencies and delivery services in our country.
With the changing industrial landscape, and strong focus on sustainability, while competing with valuable limited resources, we need to adapt and adopt the right technology, that will help bring about improved optimization and solve pain points, in order to bring up our industry standards and services.
