Planting Trees for a Greener and Sustainable Future

The Singapore Logistics Association organized an event to plant 50 trees, as part of celebrating 50 Years of #SGLogistics and Making an impactful carbon handprint.

As part of #worldenvironmentday2023, CDAS is proud to have supported SLA’s event, where together, the industry, trade associations, agencies and institutes planted 50 trees to celebrate SLA’s 50th anniversary, while contributing back to the environment as part of National Parks Board’s OneMillionTrees movement to restore nature back into our city through the planting of a million more trees across Singapore, a key pillar under the Singapore Green Plan 2030.

Together with Guest-of-Honour Ms. Grace Fu (Minister of Sustainability and the Environment) CDAS Deputy President Mr. Ricky Loo kicked off the tree planting ceremony, alongside SLA Chairman Mr. Dave Ng and STA Chairwoman Ms. Cherie Goh, and others where they unearthed the soil, planted and watered their sapling, before it gets mapped out on the TreeSG Map.

Representing CDAS, Mr. Loo continued on to plant another tree pledged by CDAS – the Memecylon Caeruleum, a native critically endangered species, found in lowland forests, along slopes and rocky shores.

CDAS will continue promoting green initiatives, and work towards creating a sustainable environment, and will continue to work with our partners to do so through introducing smart technology and initiatives to help reduce carbon emissions and optimize resources and reduce wastage.

Together, we can all make it happen.
