With host CWT Integrated Pte Ltd, CDAS President Mr. Ricky Loo was hands-on to personally welcome and guide another batch of some 15 students from ASEAN countries and NYP faculty members once again, from the NYPi-ROK ASEAN TVET Mobility Program, focusing on IT Applications & Development, hosted by Nanyang Polytechnic‘s NYP, International, coordinated by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on 25th October 2024!
To recap, the 4-weeks program is designed to equip the students with relevant IT skills meant for the industry, and in includes industry visits to sectors that utilize technology as part of their transformation efforts.
The students got to visit CWT’s patented Mega Logistics Hub, at CSRS Depot, Mr. Loo demonstrated and explained to them about the unique design and how the facility operates in ensuring a smooth daily logistics operations, as well as the wealth of services they provide, and gave them a good understanding of the logistics industry and practices, and operational flow at the depot.
He further shared about CDAS’ various industry initiatives, such as the Container Tracking System (CTR) and CDAS Pay Cashless Payment system, that has helped to uplift the industry through the adoption of Smart Technology, digitization and digitalization, and automation.
The students got to understand how these innovation and technological adoptions are applied to the container logistics industry, and that through industry automation, workers no longer needed to worry about being displaced, have better working conditions, and improve productivity through becoming a modernized workforce that can also better optimize resources for a sustainable operation
