Pledging Support for Vision Zero

CDAS is pleased to be supporting the Vision Zero movement by the Workplace Safety and Health Council. Vision Zero is a movement to inculcate a mindset that all injuries & ill health at work are preventable, and a belief that zero harm is possible. Most Safety Conscious Driver Award 2021

Each year, as part of the PSA Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Launch, PSA engages the Haulier Associations (CDAS, SLA and STA) to encourage members to nominate drivers for the Most Safety Conscious Driver Award to be presented at the PSA HSSE Launch. Drivers who had demonstrated safety performance by not committing any safety infringements, contributre or cause any accidents / incidents, or had no adverse feedbacks from the terminals stood a chance to be nominated. In Memory of Former CDAS President – Mr Sharafdeen S N Abdul Rasak

The association was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr Sharafdeen S N Abdul Rasak, former CDAS President on 20 March 2021. Mr. Sharafdeen was one of the founding members of the Association, who had helped establish the Association, along with other container depot operators, and helped guide and grow it to where it is today. Calling for Industry Island wide Safety Time-Out (STO)

Five Fatalities in 10 Days – Call Upon Industries for Safety Time-Out The Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council has shared that from 23 November to 2 December 2020, there have been five workplace fatalities across various industries. Preliminary investigations from the Ministry of Manpower have found that these accidents could have been easily prevented through thorough inspection of worksites to correct any potentially unsafe conditions, and workers to be re-trained and given time to adjust after a period of inactivity. 77 Organisations Recognised for Workplace Safety and Health Excellence

77 contractors, operators and organisations were recognised by the Land Transport Authority for their excellent workplace safety, health and environment management practices in 2019 at the 22nd Annual Safety, Health and Environmental Award Convention (ASAC).
