Together with the help of host CWT Integrated Pte Ltd, we warmly welcomed a visit by some 20 students and 4 faculty members from ASEAN countries, who were attending the NYPi-ROK ASEAN TVET Mobility Program in IT Applications & Development hosted by Nanyang Polytechnic’s NYP, International. They were also joined by representatives of The Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
The 4 week program is designed to equip the students with relevant IT skills meant for the industry, and in includes industry visits to sectors that utilize technology as part of their transformation efforts.
To that end, we gave them a presentation to showcase CDAS’ various industry initiatives, to help uplift the industry through the adoption of smart technology, digitization and digitalization. The students got to understand how through the Association’s efforts, the industry was slowly transformed from one that is brick and mortar, to one that has embraced IT and technology in order to improve operational flow, reduce wastage and embarking on contribution towards decarbonization through resource optimization.
CWT Integrated’s Derek Koh also graciously shared on their use of various technologies to transform their business to adapt and address the needs of the ever changing logistics business landscape. The students and faculty members also got to see CWT’s patented multimodal transport hub for managing transportation resources, and how the chassis storage and on-demand deployment works.
Overall, we hoped the students had a fruitful visit and we look forward to continue working together with all parties again.
Special thanks to CWT Integrated, Gim Peng Chua, Graham Ng (Dr.) and Jerry Lim Yishun for their coordination.
